Lately

I guess I should update since Collin's 4 month check-up now that he's almost 5 months old! He is doing so amazing! He's rolled over now about 5 or 6 times, has a new fascination with sticking his tongue out, loves to try and eat his toes, love love loves his jumparoo, can grab just about anything and bring it to his mouth, laughs a ton, is starting to scratch surfaces like Luke used to do, and is eating rice cereal! Wow! He's got quite a bit of strength as well and might just be sitting up in another month or so, but we'll have to wait and see! He's been trying to interact with his brother more, and vice versa, but isn't quite a fan of the yelling in the face game Luke likes to play. I can't get over how easy and happy this kid has been (knock on wood)! At his 4 month check up, he was 13.8 lbs and 24.5 inches long. A little less than a pound heavier than Luke at that age and 1 inch shorter! He was in the 17% for weight and 26% for height. Lookin good!

As for Mr. Luke . . . he has become quite the handful! I thought the beginning of the terrible twos was bad enough and didn't think it could really get any worse. I WAS WRONG! He has to kick and scream about everything whether it's doing something fun or not! We even had to force him into his Halloween costume after which he didn't want to take it off! He was even staring at himself in the mirror pushing the buttons on his buzz lightyear costume! Basically, whatever we encourage him to do, he refuses, even if it means missing out on candy or something fun! Even just carving pumpkins this year was a struggle. In his rare in between tantrums state, he is such a great kid! As long as we let him help with some big boy stuff, he is generally in a better mood. He wants to sit at the table with us at dinner and eat like a big kid, which is something we finally discovered helps him to eat. He likes to help put stuff away and help with dinner and his verbal skills continue to get better and better. He now knows most of his colors, animals and animal sounds, and some letters, but still isn't motivated to count or say the alphabet. I do think he is WAY more intelligent than he lets on and could do a lot more, but is just a little stubborn. He loves school now and doesn't cry when we drop him off anymore. These days the break from him is such a blessing too! Don't get me wrong, I love him to death, but he wears us out right now! As our pediatrician once put it, now's when you really have to become a parent! I know he's just testing his boundaries and Eric and I were apparently pros at that as toddlers too, but we turned out alright, right?!!

Rollin Rollin Collin

I wanted to wait until Collin officially turned 4 months to write this, but the excitement is too much! Mr. Collin has now rolled over from belly to back twice! Only one of which I actually saw. I just know when I left him to get his brother up from his nap, he was on his belly and when I came back, he was on his back! This is more than a month earlier than when Luke rolled over for the first time! The little, or should I say big, guy is growing sooooo fast! He loves to grab his feet when lying on his back which is the cutest thing ever! He loves to "talk" and can actually reach the floor in his jumparoo! I am pretty sure Luke was much older before we were able to remove the phone book from under his feet! He is so happy, oh, and laughing now! It is the best thing in the world when you can get that good belly laugh out of him! Believe it or not, but big brother can actually make him laugh now too instead of squeal in fright! =) He loves to stand, but is not really a jumper like his brother! He also squirms all over the place when on his belly! I def think this one will be crawling sooner than big bro too! Here's a couple pics:

The Big 2!!!

Our baby is growing up!! Luke is officially two now! Just within the last few weeks it seems as if he has really turned a new leaf! He FINALLY understands the concept of consequences/rewards and so getting him to do things has gotten a lot easier! This new development even helps control those wonderful temper tantrums that he is so good at. He has been talking better and putting more words together. He's still not totally talking in sentences, but really wants to, so makes up words to fill the spaces. He is at least putting 3 words together though! He is STILL obsessed with lights and light switches. I thought it was a phase, but it seems to be sticking! He loves the movie, Wall-e, so we threw him a wall-e birthday party that turned out awesome! Most of his best buds came and there was pizza, cake, and presents! What more could you ask for?! We had been practicing blowing candles out, so when it came down to it, he blew them out like a champ! He also quickly figured out the present opening skill! I can tell that this Christmas is going to be a lot of fun! He keeps us laughing and on our toes every second of every day! He's still a skinny little dude, falling in the 3.6%, but average on his height and so we're keeping our fingers crossed that he surpasses both of us! He is getting to be such a helpful and great big brother! He loves to try to give Collin bottles and desperately wants to play with him, but doesn't quite understand that Collin can't stand on his own yet! It is pretty cute! Just yesterday, he saw a picture of Collin on the computer and said, "Bubber, kiss" and kissed it! Collin is also starting to smile more at his brother instead of grimacing in fear! It's a start! We took the boys on their first camping trip this weekend! I wasn't sure how they would fare, but they did amazing! I don't think Luke had 1 temper tantrum the whole time! The great outdoors must bring out the best in him! It helps that one of his best buds was there to share in the adventure too! Collin was also a superstar! They slept in the tent no problem(barring the one time I woke up to find Luke flailing in between the tent wall and air mattress) and Luke even took a nap which I figured was going to be out of the question! Collin was great at nursing in a pinch which was also another of my main concerns, but the whole trip ended up being really relaxing! I anticipated a very stressful couple of days, but was pleasantly surprised!

Long overdue!

Pidek Family Vacation:
We recently returned from a week long vacation in Gulfport, MS to visit Eric's Dad and his wife, Debbie. We caravaned with Eric's 2 brothers and their families who first drove to OK from CO to meet us, then we all made the trek together. It was quite interesting traveling with 6 adults and 6 kids!! Needless to say there were LOTS of stops! We still made pretty good time and stayed in an awesome 3 bedroom condo that Eric found! It was right on the beach! While there, we swam at the pool a lot, went to the beach there and drove to the beach in Ft. Walton where we also went on a dolphin cruise, visited New Orleans, and saw the Stennis Space Museum! It was a lot of fun! Luke had a little too much fun! He really started to take to the pool and by the end of our vacation was doing canon balls off the side!! He was so exhausted that a good portion of our time was spent dealing with temper tantrums! Collin, on the other hand, kept his normal schedule and was pretty easy! Even after sleeping the whole way in the car, he still slept that night!! He also slept completely through the night for the first time while we were there as well as turned 2 months old!!

Collin:
Collin is growing like crazy!! A couple days after getting back from vacation, he had his 2 month check up. Our jaws dropped as we read the scale after weighing him. 11 lbs 1 oz!! Almost 3 lbs heavier than Luke was at that age! He is also cooing and smiling like CRAZY now!! He's such a happy baby! He's also recently started batting at and grabbing toys. I would love to say that he likes to smile, laugh, and play with his brother, but unfortunately, he gets a huge look of concern on his face every time he hears Luke's voice. It doesn't help that Luke has no volume control! I wonder if Collin is just waiting for the impending doom that is sure to meet him following that toddler voice. Luke hasn't completely grasped the concept that Collin is not as tough as him just yet! The poor guy's been sat on, hit, and kicked(not all intentional)! I did catch Luke gently putting the binky in Collin's mouth this morning though! He can be a good helper and gentle when he wants to!

Luke:
Luke started school a couple weeks ago. It's a Mother's Day Out program at a local church where he goes 2 Xs a week. The first day, he just walked right in, started playing with toys, and didn't even look back! The next day, he took one look at the screaming kids already in the classroom and started whimpering himself. It has progressed now though to where he starts crying just driving up to the place!! I do think he really enjoys it, seeing as he is pretty happy when I pick him up! I'm hoping he gets a lot out of it and learns a lot so he is well prepared for when school really starts! Luke's terrible 2's are still in full swing although he is getting a little, and I emphasize LITTLE, easier to snap out of. He is starting to listen more and communicate a little better so that everyone is a little less frustrated! As long as he is well fed and rested, he's usually more complacent, but when he throws a tantrum, it is BAD! I know it's just pay back for what Eric and I did to our parents, but come on!! I do miss the days when I wasn't constantly worried about what was going to set him off, but I know it WILL get better and, in between those tantrums, he is the funniest, craziest, most lovable little guy! On the potty training front, LUKE WENT PEE PEE IN THE POTTY!! I haven't been pushing anything with him, but simply put him in pull ups now and then and have him sit on the potty before his bath every night. He really enjoys sitting on the potty, turning around while still sitting, and flushing it over and over. Last night, I'm sure it was completely accidental, but he peed while on it!! I got so excited and praised him like crazy! He just got a huge grin on his face as if realizing he did something really good! Now if we can only get him to do it again . . .

Eric:
This past weekend, Eric flew co-pilot with my Dad in the Okie Derby. Not only did they hit the fuel estimate right on, but did really well on the time and won the whole thing!! It's the first time Eric's gotten first place with my Dad although they came close a few years back and got second. I think it's a fun annual tradition that they really enjoy and is fun to watch. Luke enjoyed watching all the planes fly by and even got to ride in Papa's plane as he taxied it to the hangar.

Chubby Bubby

Collin is now 1 month old and growing like crazy! At his 3 week appointment, he already gained 1lb and 4 oz from his birth weight and I'm sure is at least 8 lbs now! The doc said she really just likes to see them back at their birth weight by 2 weeks, so he's well ahead of that! He only added a 1/4 of an inch to his height, but I guess this little guy is more interested in growing horizontally than vertically right now! Not much has changed besides that. We have good nights where he'll go 4-5 hours straight without waking up, and bad nights where he's up every 2! He seems to be falling into a bit of a routine now though where as long as he gets plenty of awake time in the morning and right before bed, he sleeps better at night. Mr. Collin is just the most snugly, kissable little guy! I can't get enough of him!

Luke takes more and more interest in Collin every day! He actually loves to try to hold him and "play" on the play mat with him. He also has some moments of jealousy where he tries to push him off our lap or tries to hit and kick him, but he's learning! His new favorite word lately is "sorry", since he's been having to use it a LOT lately! I really do think he enjoys having him around though! He does like helping to put diapers in the trash, the binky in Collin's mouth, and "feeding" him with the bottle(if that's what you want to call it, although it's more like grabbing the other end and singing in it like a microphone!). The terrible two's are in full swing now and some days I'm not sure how I'll make it, but this too shall pass just in time to have another terrible 2!! Some day, WAY in the future, I know I WILL get a break! I will have to say that I do have the most handsome boys, love all 3 of them to pieces, and wouldn't trade them for anything in the world!

Little man update

First off, we had Collin's newborn photos taken yesterday and here is the link to see the sneak peek: Sneak Peek - I'm super excited to see the rest!!

Collin is doing awesome! He is SUCH a good baby! He pretty much sleeps all the time! Every once and a while he will fuss a little when he's hungry, but other than that, he's usually a super happy baby. At his first weight check, he weighed 5 lbs 10 oz, so he only lost a total of 6 oz!! That's quite the contrast to Luke's 13 oz that he lost at his first weight check! We know he has put on at least another 4 oz since then too. It's pretty exciting to have a baby that actually gains weight! I love love love snuggling with the little guy! He likes to lay on his belly on my chest and sleep the day, or night, away! It is the most precious thing! He is also already almost rolling over! Don't ask me how that's even possible considering Luke didn't roll over until he was 5 months old! Collin just doesn't really love being on his back like his brother always did, so anytime we change his diaper, he rolls over onto his side. I thought Luke's diapers were hard to change, but it looks like Collin is going to give us a run for our money! I am loving life with my boys and can't even imagine it any other way! I know it will be much more difficult once Eric goes back to work, but hopefully I will get a routine down so it's not so bad. Luke is starting to interact more with Collin and loves to point out his eyes as well as poke them and put whatever he can find on them! He can also be super sweet and gently "pet" Collin as well as help me feed and burp him. He has started putting two and two together such as when he found my nursing cover on the floor, picked it up, and said, "baby". He went for Collin's pacifier once and after I explained to him that it was for the baby, not him, he tried to stick it in Collin's mouth. He really has been quite the helper with Collin! I am just looking forward to the day that Collin can interact back with Luke! They will be such great buddies!

Outnumbered!!

Aspen and I are officially outnumbered! On June 3rd at 12:56PM, we added a new little bouncing boy to the Pidek household! Collin Rylee weighed in at 6lbs and was 20in long! Although most of us thought he was going to be a girl, I couldn't be more pleased with my precious little man! Everytime I look at him and think of all the fun and trouble, I'm sure, he and Luke are going to get into, my eyes just well up with tears! He is such a blessing!

How it all went down:

At about 11:30 PM on Wednesday night, shortly after heading to bed, I started getting horrible cramping along with the contractions I had already been having for the past few days. When they weren't easing up, I quickly informed Eric that he needed to get a sitter over here for Luke pronto!! This took some convincing, seeing as Eric wanted to make sure it really was the real deal and kept telling me that we hadn't even timed them yet. After a few evil eyes and harsh words on my part, the call was made and we headed to the hospital. My mom met us up there and while we were there, the cramping eased up, but contractions didn't! I was 2-3 cm when we arrived and after an hour of monitoring and contractions that were 2 - 3 min apart, I progressed to 4 cm. Now I was thinking this would go super fast and we would be meeting our little bundle of joy in just a few short hours seeing as Luke arrived only 5 hours after checking into the hospital with him! I was wrong! After checking into my room, the contractions slowed down and by 5:30 AM, there was still hardly any change and pitocin was administered. That helped my contractions a little, but Mr. Collin was not cooperating by moving down and helping the process out! So when my Doc arrived at 9:40AM, she broke my water and all hell broke loose! I was actually doing really well breathing and trying to relax through each contraction all up until I got to 8 cm and was then cursing myself for not getting the epidural! Luckily, once Collin FINALLY dropped and I was able to start pushing, it didn't take long. When they placed him on my chest, my heart just melted! I would definitely say that this time around was MUCH longer, more difficult, and more painful, but everytime I hold and stare at my little guy, it all just melts away and was SO worth it!

Big Brother:

Most days, I don't think Luke even knows that Collin exists, but one thing that he absolutely LOVES about his little brother is his cry! That's usually about the only time Luke pays any attention to him. Luke likes to go up to him and mimic the strange squealing piggy noise that comes out of him! It's actually pretty cute! Another cute interaction Luke has with his new brother is at bedtime and nap time. Before we lay Luke down, he always leans over and gives us kisses. Well, the first night, without any prompting from us, instead of leaning to me to give me my kiss, he leaned towards Collin and gave him one first! It was pretty stinkin cute! I think Luke might be starting to get just a little jealous, seeing as he's been super cranky today and gets really frustrated that I can't pick him up, but it hasn't gotten too bad just yet! I really hope they can grow up to be best buds, but I know we might not be able to avoid the whole sibling rivalry thing forever!

Little Brother:

So far, so good! Collin has such a great temperament and the sweetest cry! He really only cries when he's hungry and sleeps most of the day away! He's quite the little piggy at night and could eat all night if I let him, but it hasn't been bad at all! He isn't quite as alert as Luke was, but LOVES to snuggle! We've had to give in and put him in our bed a lot of the night, just so we could get some sleep since he isn't a fan of the bassinet. He just likes to be close to us! I'm not going to complain though, I love it! He has the cutest full head of brown with a little blonde mixed in hair. I so wish he keeps it, but its not likely seeing as all the rest of us lost our hair as babies. Here are a few photos of the little guy:

Full Term!!

As of tomorrow, I will be 37 weeks and officially full term!! At my dr. apt. today I was told that I am a 2, almost 3, 50% effaced and the baby is at a -3. She said it could be another week or so, but it was a little strange that just while waiting for her to see me, I had about 4 contractions! I think Eric was a little freaked out when I kept having them at home, but they have since slowed down just like I thought they might. Eric was telling me that I should try to keep my legs together because the baby isn't supposed to come for at least another week! Ha ha! Too bad I can't just have that much control over it! I am just hoping I will know when I'm really in labor and not have this one on the way! It's a good thing I started getting some of the last preparations done today. I will keep you posted! As for names . . . still working on them! Eeek!

Progress

I had a Dr.'s apt last week (at 36 weeks preggo) and everything is looking great! Baby is starting get closer and closer to entering this world! The doc said I was almost a 2 and about 50% effaced which is pretty close to where I was at this time with Luke. If this one follows in Luke's footsteps I should have exactly 2 weeks and 1 day left! I've been working on getting a bag packed and getting everything clean and ready for the little one! This due date has DEFINITELY snuck up on us fast! I am so ready to meet this little one and get it off and away from my poor organs which have taken much more of a beating this time, but also a little terrified of dealing with a needy newborn AND almost 2 year old! I know it will be well worth it though! Luke shows us everyday how all our hard work has paid off each time he laughs, makes us laugh, snuggles with us, and gives us the best slobbery kisses you could ever ask for!

On another note, my step grandpa passed away this last weekend after a short duration dealing with cancer. He was a wonderful man and will be deeply missed! We were able to make it to the funeral service this past Wednesday, which was a beautiful tribute to his life. Any prayers are more than welcome and I'm sure my grandma would especially appreciate them!

Maternity Photo Shoot

We had Maternity photos taken on Friday and I just wanted to post a link to our "sneak peek". I'm very pleased with them so far and think she did a great job! Luke had a blast showing off and doing his own thing even though he wouldn't do quite what we wanted him to, it should still make for some great candid shots! Luke was also a great helper in cleaning the house and getting it ready for the pictures! I posted a few pictures of him below trying to help clean. He LOVES the vacuum cleaner and later I caught him with his bath time rag dusting the shelves and glass without prompting from anyone! I'm not sure how he picked up on that seeing as I don't generally dust and when Eric does, he uses the swiffer duster. I guess he's just getting too smart for his own good! - Sneak Peek

I don't think I mentioned before, but Luke has become really attached to a particular blanket, which, for the life of us, we can't figure out why. It started about 3 or 4 months ago and at first, he just wanted to have a blanket in each hand right after his nap and in the mornings. Then it eventually became one particular blanket and even though I was adamant about not letting it leave the house, it has somehow made its way into the car. I am going to stand my ground on not letting it leave the car though! It can stay in the house or car when we go somewhere, but that's it! Just call him Linus! It's pretty cute though how anytime he's upset or tired or in trouble he calls frantically for that darn blanket! He's a nut!! Oh and one other thing, we finally taught him to say, "I love you"! It usually comes out as more of " I you you you", but it's super cute anyways!!

Update

So lately, every single day is a new adventure and learning experience for us! I know I've said it before, but it is AMAZING what a difference a month, let alone a few days, can make! Luke has started putting multiple words together and trying to tell stories. As I tell Eric what we did for the day, he copies everything I say and would rather be the one to tell him. The other night as we sat on the couch winding down for the evening, Luke told us, "Book, night night, light off", letting us know how the bedtime routine goes! He is also really good at saying people's names. He is becoming so much more independent and loves to help around the house. Anytime he finds fuzz on the floor, he picks it up, says, "tash", and puts it in the trash, then follows that with a "Yea!". He loves to sing(go figure!). He still attempts to sing the alphabet although A-B-C-D is about as far as he gets with a few others thrown in at random times and this is almost always followed by a "Yea!" as well. He loves watching American Idol with us as he attempts to sing, wave his arms back and forth like the audience, clap, and yell "Yea!". Of course with singing also comes dancing and boy has he got some moves!! He's even started doing this thing on his back that's almost like a backwards worm! Look out Eric, you've got competition!


On the potty training front, Luke has started telling us just about everytime he goes poop in his diaper. He says, "Poo poo, die-der" or sometimes it's even just "die-der". He came up to me just yesterday, grabbed onto my leg for support, said, "poo poo, die-der", and then proceeded to go. He's been much better with diaper changes although still puts up a fight every now and then, but gives up faster. He loves to sit on his potty and copy what we do. I'm just waiting for the day he "accidentally" goes in his potty so we can make a big deal about it! For now I am just going to keep showing him what to do and wait until I think he is ready enough to recognize when he is about to go before hitting it hardcore.


As for Luke's social skills, man is he a social butterfly! He doesn't take long to warm up to just about anyone and has actually started interacting with kids his age. He's always loved playing with older kids, and still does, but just recently started playing and "talking" to all his buddies that are his age. It's so much fun to watch! He is also good at recognizing his relatives now too!

As for baby #2, everything is still going well although the doc did decide to give me the steroid shot again this time as well as put me back on brethine. I had mentioned to her that my contractions were getting more uncomfortable lately and after checking me and seeing that I was dilated a little(only 1 cm), thought it would be best as a preventative measure based on my first pregnancy. The steroid shot is just to help the baby's lungs develop faster in case it does come early and the brethine is just to slow down the contractions. The baby's lungs should already be mostly developed by now anyways, but we still don't want the little one coming too early and you can't be too cautious! It is quite the mover and shaker now! It's very active, but not quite as spastic as Luke was. This one seems to be more of a roller as opposed to a kicker and doesn't perform on cue like Luke always did. It will be interesting to see how this one turns out! I'm thinking it might be a little less temperamental, but who knows.

The start . . .

I had to document a momentous event that just occurred in our household tonight. Luke correlated pee pee with the potty! It doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but anyone with kids will know how exciting that moment was for me. Here's what happened, after pointing out to Luke that he had gone pee pee in his bath, I watched him promptly climb out of the bath and sit on his potty as he tried to use it! Granted, he didn't do anything in it, but knew what to to do! I've been trying to introduce the whole concept of using the potty just by showing him what to do and trying to help him realize when he goes. I haven't wanted to push anything on him and certainly haven't been sticking him on his potty every 2 hours, but would be thrilled if he could start the process a little early. Heaven knows it's hard enough just having 1 kid in diapers! Anyways, just for him to put 2 and 2 together enough to realize that going pee pee meant to get on the potty is a HUGE milestone in my eyes, so let the process begin!! (fingers crossed anyways!)

On another note, Luke also learned how to go up steps today at the park without holding onto anything! He's always been so cautious to hold our hands, or a rail or something in order to go up the steps, but today he just went for it all on his own! He even went down one or two without holding onto anything! So it's been a pretty big day here in the Pidek household and definitely worthy of writing down.

Luke's latest Obsessions

So lately, Luke has become even MORE obsessed with light switches!! He seeks them out everywhere we go and then whines and whines to be held so he can switch them on and off! At home we push his step stool up to the light switch so that he can play at his own leisure, but he's started getting mad when it's not at the switch he wants now! His other obsession lately is Mommy's shoes! He loves to try and put my shoes on! I caught him walking across the living room the other day with them on! It was pretty cute! He's been a great helper lately as far as trying to help put his clothes and shoes on. It's really fun to watch him become more and more independent! I absolutely LOVE being able to set his food in front of him in a bowl with a spoon or fork and watch him go at it all by himself while Mommy and Daddy get to eat WARM food for once! He also loves to talk on the phone, well as long as there's really no one on the other end! He will find a calculator and walk around the house just jibber jabbering away! Sometimes I catch him trying to throw real words in there when he's talking to himself. It sounds like he's practicing all the words he knows! He loves to "count" and say his ABCs! He's got the number one down, then says deuce instead of two, and then four seems to be next although I know can say three! As far as the ABCs go, he can say A -B -C and then the rest are just made up sounds mostly, except for O and maybe I!!

On another note, the terrible twos are gaining momentum fast! He's started laughing at us when he's in trouble and ignoring our discipline! The sad thing is that I know this is only the beginning! Lord please give me the strength to get through this because I know it is going to be a rough ride!!!

As far as baby #2 goes, we are officially in the 3rd trimester! Only a few more months left! I can not believe how fast it has gone! Everything is still going smoothly! I passed my glucose test with flying colors even after cheating and eating breakfast that day! The baby is still measuring on time and the heart rate is good! This one's heart rate seems to be all over the place though! Luke's was ALWAYS right around 150bpm, but this one's has been anywhere from 130bpm to 160bpm! As far as gender goes, I've dreamt it was a boy and a girl, so who knows! I've been trying to teach Luke the words, brother and sister, but until yesterday, sister was the only one he would attempt to say! Maybe he knows something?? Cousins Max and Corbin also both said girl when I asked them! Either way, as long as it's healthy, we will be happy! Luke's 1st Haircut!!

We finally gave in and got Luke his first haircut! Although he still doesn't have a lot, it was getting out of control and very uneven. Now I wonder what took us so long because he looks a million times better now, not that he wasn't still adorable before! The last straw was when the receptionist at the doctor's office today called Luke a girl! That was the 2nd time in 2 weeks that someone thought he was a girl! I guess that's what we get for having such a pretty boy! =) I wanted to do something special for his first haircut, so we took him to Snip-Its (the Disneyland of haircutting salons!). He did sooo good! He sat perfectly still like a little angel and just looked around wondering what the heck was going on! It looked like he might even fall asleep at one point! It was super cute! The hairdresser said she had never seen a baby hold that still and do that good! Anyways, here are some pictures:

As for Baby P, everything is still going perfectly! I couldn't ask for anything more, no bedrest and no yucky meds! The doc did say, however, that I have a minor case of hydronephrosis. It's inflammation of one of my kidneys most likely due to the baby sitting on a ureter and not allowing it to completely empty. It's nothing too severe and shouldn't affect the baby, but might just give me a little discomfort. Hopefully it will rectify itself as the baby moves around or completely exits its cramped home for that matter! The heart rate is still great and it's growing like a weed, or so it feels anyways! It's pretty funny though that the past couple of times I've gone, the doc said she didn't even need to ask if I'd felt much fetal movement since the baby pretty much kicked the heck outta her during the exam! Oh man am I in for it! You would think Eric and I would've thought twice about the second one considering there was the chance we could get another crazy Luke!! Oh well, I guess we will just be super fit chasing around 2 active little ones! Also, this one is apparently a night owl! I remember that Luke hardly ever moved a muscle at night! I would never wake up to his kicks! This one is a whole different story! Its most active time is at night, but luckily it hasn't effected my sleep too much yet!

The Newest

I had an ultrasound done this morning just to check a few things such as making sure baby is not trying to come early like Luke wanted to and for possible kidney stones(ick!). Baby is doing great though! Still on track for the same due date and much bigger! I can't believe the baby is already 1lb 12oz!! Maybe this one will learn how to pack on those pounds unlike its big brother! This baby loves to have its hands in its face! It went from playing with its toes, to playing with its umbilical cord, to playing with its nose! It was the cutest thing! It's so funny how different these pregnancies have been! When I was preggo with Luke, I could've been happy with him in my belly forever and this time, I actually kinda want it to come out (when its ready of course)! It hasn't been a horrible pregnancy and lord knows I'm terrified of the stresses that are sure to await us, but I'm still kinda looking forward to it! Weird! I guess I've just had a little more anticipation about this one since a lot of the pregnancy stuff has lost its luster. Been there, done that! On to Big Brother . . . His vocabulary has been growing leaps and bounds this past month! It's crazy how one day something just clicked and now he tries to say any and every word no matter how difficult! We are in the process of moving him to the guest bedroom to make way for the baby and have had a lot of fun decorating! We decided to go with a space/robot theme, since he is "Bitty Bot"! We've painted, made and hung planets, and made a growth chart! Luke loves going in his soon to be new room, running around, and pointing at the planets as he tries to say "planets"! I think he likes it! We are just waiting on Eric to put up the chair rail, as well as a few other decorative touches and it should be ready for him to move into! We've decided to move the crib in there since we won't need it for the new baby for a while and we will convert it to a toddler bed once he gets comfortable with the new room. Wish us luck!!
