And baby makes 4 . . .

It's a boy! Luke Nicholas Pidek has finally arrived! Sorry it's taken so long to post something, but I am just now realizing how much time raising a little munchkin really requires! There's not much time between feedings, so you've really got to make the most use out of what time you do have! Anyways, Luke entered this world on Friday, September 19th at 5:00 PM weighing 6 lbs and measuring 21 inches long. It was an amazing experience! We had actually gone to the hospital at 3:00 AM that morning and were told that I just wasn't quite far enough progressed, but by 10:30 at my regular doc apt, she told me to rush back to labor and delivery because I was in labor! We checked in at the hospital at 12:00 and 5 hours later he was born! It was super fast! So fast actually that I never even had a chance to think about an epidural! I know it sounds a little crazy, but it wasn't near as bad as I thought! I think the recovery has really been the worst part of the ordeal! Now we have a beautiful baby boy and we couldn't ask for anything more! He is just the most precious, sweetest thing in the whole world and we are so blessed and so thankful for all the friends and family that have been there for us! Another funny story about the whole thing is how I went into labor. Eric heard from a colleague at work about an eggplant Parmesan recipe that supposedly makes you go into labor within 48 hours. I thought it was a little nutty, but the recipe sounded really yummy, so we gave it a try! It was really good! We ate it Wednesday night, and that next morning my contractions became much stronger. So almost 48 hours after our fist helping and little Luke was born! I have no idea if the recipe had anything to do with it or not, but it's fun to think that it might've! Here's a website where it came from that you can read about if you'd like: Scalini's Italian Restaraunt It may be a while before I get the chance to update this again for a while, but I will try! Here's a pic of our cutie:

Progress & Proofs

We went to the doc this morning and it looks like I might've progressed a little, but not much. She said I am 2-3 cm and still 75% effaced. The baby hasn't completely dropped yet, but is definitely in my pelvis, so it's where it needs to be. She stripped my membranes which can put some people into labor, but isn't a sure thing, so we will just have to wait and see! Also, our photographer posted more pics on her blog of our maternity session, so if you haven't seen the proofs yet, which can only be viewed online for a couple more days, or haven't been emailed the password, you can see more of them there! Maternity Proofs

The proofs from our maternity photo session are finally ready! There's only 5 days to view them online, so if you want to see them and I didn't email you the password, please let me know! I think they turned out really great! Now we have the hard decision of deciding what to order! Let me know your favorites!

No change

Well, my doc apt. didn't really show any change from last week! I'm still 2 cm and 75% effaced. I know that it's possible to stay that way for several weeks though, so I'm really trying not to get any hopes up! I still have quite a while before the decision to induce will come into play, so I'm just really hoping this baby decides to come on its own before then! I guess whatever happens will happen though and as long as the baby is happy and healthy, that's all that matters! The baby should be fully developed by now, so it could come at any time and be perfectly fine. So, we will just continue waiting on pins and needles until next week . . .

Labor Day weekend

Well, Labor day came and went, and no, I did not go into labor! False advertisement! Anyways, we did spend a large portion of the weekend finishing up some stuff in the baby's room. We also went to a pool party at a friend's house, but I won't be posting pics of that! Just imagine a beached whale and that's close enough! =) All that's missing in the baby's room now is baby, of course, as well as pictures for the walls and some pink or blue accents! Here are the pics of what it looks like now:

Working on the baby's room is pretty rough!

Belly pic

Well, I have been trying to add another belly picture and change up the baby's page a little, but apparently I have run out of space on my server, so that's why the baby's page isn't working right now. Sorry! Hopefully I will have it fixed soon! Also, I can't put the poll on the new baby page that I made, so I will just have it here on the blog for those of you who haven't voted yet! Not much longer though and we will have our answer! Anyways, keep an eye out for the new belly pic as soon as I can get the baby's page fixed! Also, the nursery is almost done, so I will be posting pics of that on here soon too!

Ok, so I reworked it so at least the baby's page works now, but you will have to use the link on this page to get there now! It is posted to the left! I'm thinking I might actually need to buy some webspace!
