Easter

First Day

Today was my first day on the job and it went pretty well. I didn't really get a chance to do much. I mostly just filled out paperwork and stuff. I did get to feed some tadpoles and watch the professor work on an experiment though. I also got to go eat lunch with my sister since she works right next to where I do. That was cool.

Easter was pretty fun. We went to church with my parents and then ate lunch with them. We then came back to Moore and had Easter dinner with some friends here. I didn't get to watch my nephew hunt Easter eggs, but I heard it was pretty comical. Apparently he was more interested in walking around talking to himself than looking for eggs.

I forgot to mention that the pictures we had taken on Saturday looked really good. We got a deal where they would post them online for us, so I am going to put up a link to them as soon as they post it. Hopefully they should post them next week or so.

Second interview

Well I had my second interview for the lab tech job this morning and it went really well. I start work on Monday! The professor seemed really nice as well as the other people that work in that lab. I am excited about it because it sounds really interesting and there is also opportunity for advancement. Hopefully this will be the start of a real career for me. I think starting out part time will be good too since it will help me get back into the swing of working. Thanks for your prayers!

Interview

I had my interview today with the cell biology department of the OU health sciences center. The job sounds pretty interesting. The research that they do deals with vision. It is a lab tech position where I would basically be fertilizing frog eggs and taking care of the frogs they use for the research. It is part time and I would be working every day. I should be getting a call back next week to find out if I got it or not, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me!

Job

Hi everyone! I got a call last week about one of the jobs I applied for. I have an interview on Wednesday. It is a part time position for a laboratory technician at the OU health sciences center. It is in the cell biology department which should be pretty interesting, so wish me luck!

Friday, I went to lunch with my friend, Nubia, who was in town for the week. It was really nice to hang out and catch up with her.

I got my hair cut yesterday and I really like it a lot. It is about shoulder length now and has tons of layers. I debated whether or not to get some side bangs, but decided against it at the last minute. Who knows though, maybe I will go back and have him add some. I got it cut because next weekend we are going to get pictures taken with my family since we don't really have any. Hopefully I can figure out a way to post them without having any copyright issues. Anyways, that's all for now! I hope everyone had a good St. Patrick's Day and have a good rest of the weekend!

Update

Well, there's still not a lot going on around here, but I thought I would write anyways. I finished painting a huge picture to go over our fireplace a couple days ago and it looks really good. We couldn't find one at the store that was what we wanted, so I decided to make one myself. We have pretty much finished decorating the kitchen too. All I have to do for it is make some curtains and we need to buy a kitchen and buffet table. We found one we like, we would just like to wait a little while before we buy it. We also have decided on a couple colors to paint the living room and entry way.

Our friend Nubia will be visiting Oklahoma soon and we are looking forward to hanging out with her! Other than that, not a whole lot more going on! Have a good spring break for all you guys that are on it now!

Sick

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while, but not too much has been going on. Saturday morning I woke up sick as a dog. I think it might be the flu because I ache all over and it hasn't gone away yet. I was able to drug up on dayquil enough Saturday night to go to an engagement party Tarah threw for one of our friends, Leslie. Eric went paint balling Saturday during the day and managed to roll his ankle. So he had been hobbling around. Sunday we went to my sister's house to have an early celebration for my mom's b-day. Other than that there isn't much going on except trying to nurse us both back to health!
